Daughter of Liberty: A True Story of the American Revolution

Reviewed by Ms. Gulotta-Bruno from Arongen
In November 16, 1776, Wyn Mabie went out to ride her horse. While riding, she almost ran down a “tall caped figure” that turned out to be General George Washington, Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. Wyn embarks on a courageous mission to retrieve important papers for Washington. These papers are plans to defeat the British Army during the American Revolution. Washington’s headquarters were taking over by the British and Wyn will have to cross enemy lines without being discovered. Will Wyn Mabie be able to retrieve those papers without being noticed? In the perils of mission, will she succeed at the task? The author Robert Quackenbush delves into historical documents and tells this story of his family’s legacy.
